Ways assessment results have been used to improve the degree program

• Changed the undergraduate program name from Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering to Biosystems Engineering since the fall of 2003.
• Discussed and implemented major curriculum changes.
• Placed higher emphasis on Biology for lower-division students by requiring two relevant classes.
• Implemented practical skills for students’ careers by requiring Technical Writing and Engineering Economics courses.
• Strengthened Biosystems Engineering and Water Resources Engineering via curriculum changes.
• Implemented major revisions for ABE 423 (Dynamics of Biological Systems) in the spring of 2005.
• Implemented major revisions for ABE 447 (Sensors and Control) in the fall of 2004. This course was taught by a newly-hired faculty member.
• Created a new class (ABE 284, Biosystems Transport Phenomena).
