| Mission - The mission of Department of Mechanical and Mechanical Engineering of the University of Arizona is: to provide rigorous and challenging educational experiences at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; to conduct research that is of national and international repute while, in so doing, contribute to the economic development of the state; and to provide service to the University, the state, and the profession of engineering. | 1. Develop the advanced skills necessary to conduct mechanical/aerospace engineering design and project evaluation. |
| 2. Prepare to work in the conceptual and physical development of mechanical and aerospace designs. |
| 3. Prepare to work in interdisciplinary projects with other engineering, managerial and scientific disciplines. |
| 4. Develop a strong background on the fundamental principles and applications of mechanical/aerospace engineering. |
| 5. Prepare to participate in and conduct basic research (both theoretical and experimental), design and development. |
| 6. Prepare to specialize in topics representative of mechanical/aerospace engineering applications in state, national and international industries. |
