Over the 2001-2002 Academic Year we obtained input and advice from 1) students; 2) the IAC and 3) industrial contacts on the following changes in the academic program:
1) inclusion of a requirement for Biology for ALL Chemical Engineering Graduates
2) less restrictive requirements for programming languages and better integration of programming throughout the curriculum.
We also invited a key recruiter of our undergraduate, ExxonMobil, to attend the Senior Design presentations, and to provide his critique of the students' preparedness and of the degree to which our desired outcomes had been met.
