Ways
assessment results have been used to improve the degree program |
|
Results from these assessment activities led to: 1) development and inclusion of a new bio-technology course 450 "Introduction to Biotechnology" which will be required of all Chemical Engineering undergraduates beginning with the class of 2006; 2) The restriction of the Advanced Science Reuqirement to either an anvanced biochemistry course or to a quantum chemistry course; and 3) the inclusion of a range of programming languages, Fortran, C++, or Visual Basic, as allowable programming languages, depending on the desire of the student. Evaluations from ExxonMobile, and from exit interviews of the Senior Class suggested that we have hitherto not done an adequate job of introducing environmental concerns into the curriculum. Accordingly steps have been taken to ensure that this omission is being rectified, not only in the design sequence, but also throughout the curriculum. |
