- New MS
and PHD curricula requirements will be instituted to:
- Strengthen
students' fundamental knowledge in four major areas of hydrology
and water resources (change instructor assignments for core courses,
change team format to individual instructor for one course)
- Strengthen
students' pre-professional laboratory and field working skills (require,
not elective, one lab module and one field module)
- Correct
any overlap that may have occurred in course content with changes
in faculty (i.e., addition of younger faculty members and retirement
of older faculty members)
- Simplify
MS and PHD course and degree requirements (streamline MS core and
allow PHD to choose 3 of 4 areas for PHD-level qualification
- Reduce
prolonged time to degree completion (in some, but not all, cases)
